Coalition of Civic rights organizations have called on Nigerians to take part in peaceful protests and demonstrations on October 1, 2024 to end what they describe as excruciating economic hardship, poverty, and hunger, which they attributed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s implementation of IMF/World Bank-inspired capitalist policies.
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ambassador Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa) and Prof Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji (Kano) as the chairman Governing Board and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the North-West Development Commission (NWDC) and their names along with the members of the inaugural Governing Board of NWDC forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.
Soldiers from the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army raided a training school for internet fraud activities known as “HK” (Hustle Kingdom) in an Estate in Effurun, Delta State with 123 suspects arrested from the academy for cybercrime. The suspects were apprehended at the Army Estate in Effurun and subsequently handed over to the Ekpan Police Divisional Headquarters in Uvwie Local Government Area.
