Katsina Football Academy has shortlisted 16 players selected to join the Academy for the year 2025.
The director sports of the Academy Shamsuddeen Ibrahim made this known to the academy media department.
According to the Academy’s sports director the players were selected from across the 24 LGAs of the state following a series of screening conducted both at the zonal level and the final screening at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
The 16 players selected are drawn from Funtua, Katsina, Dutsi, Daura, Kurfi, Safana, Batagarawa, Mashi, Mani, Bakori, Dan’musa and Mai’adua.
The players shortlisted are Abubakar Sufyanu, Valverde, Muhammad Sa’idu, Aliyu Mansir, Al’ameen Mas”ud, Mustapha Hassan, Nura S Nura, Bakir Abdulsalam and Abdullahi Haruna.
Others are Abbas Ibrahim, Usman Hamisu, Fahad Dikko, Mustapha Aliyu, Salihu Abbati, Aliyu Yakubu and Sulaiman Ibrahim.
Similarly the Academy’s sports director added that there’s also Nine (9) players whom were shortlisted on standby expected to join the Academy to include Abubakar Dan’soja and Umar Bala from Katsina LG, Sani Ibrahim Sani Safana, Surajo Umar Mashi, Bilyaminu Kasim Ingawa, Umar Haruna Dutsi, Abbas Ahmad Funtua, Aminu Abubakar Kurfi and Shu’aibu Abdullahi from Daura.
Further more, the First week of April 2025 is scheduled as reporting date in to the academy for the shortlisted players to commence training.
