As part of efforts by the katsina police command to enhance operational capabilities and improve public safety and security, the command has passed out 525 newly deployed police constables who had undergone training at the 27 PMF Squadron, Katsina.
The Spokesman for the command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu explained that the training program was in line with the vision and mission of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to ensure a professionally competent and service-driven police force that can respond to the dynamics of the security situation in the country.
According to him, the training, aimed at equipping the officers with the skills and necessary knowledge to effectively tackle the unique security challenges facing our society, covered a range of topics, including:- Core police duties and responsibilities
- Advanced weapon handling and tactics
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Crisis management and conflict resolution
- Professional conduct
- Social media policy, and
- First aid
The state police commissioner, Aliyu Musa during his remarks at the training, emphasised the importance of training and retraining of personnel so that officers can perform at an optimum level.
He further charged the officers to uphold the highest level of standard, professionalism, integrity, and discipline during the course of their career as police officers.
He thanked the IGP for his unflinching guidance and support to the command logistically and otherwise.
The police commissioner equally appreciated the Katsina State Government under Malam Dikko Radda, for the logistical support that made the program possible.
The police commissioner reiterated the command’s commitment towards ensuring the protection of lives and properties of the good people of Katsina State.
