The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State has said its government, if voted into power, will begin the arduous process of rebuilding the local government councils in the state after what it termed nearly eight years of All Progressive Congress (APC) wreckage.

The party’s campaign council chairman in Katsina, Sen. Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, also said the PDP government, if elected, will take deliberate steps to ensure autonomy of the local councils is reflected in the governance of the state.

Tsauri, speaking in Musawa on Wednesday at PDP rally, expressed confidence in the ability of the party’s gubernatorial candidate to reposition the local councils and institute good governance at both levels.

The former law maker hailed the massive crowd at the PDP campaign rally in the hitherto APC stronghold as a huge vote of confidence on the opposition party and the leadership qualities of the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Yakubu Lado.

He charged all stakeholders in the polity to join hands with the party in moving the state and the nation forward and ensuring that they reflect standards that everyone will be proud off.

In the same vein, the Director General of the PDP Campaign Council, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, urged the electorate in the state not to waste their votes on APC candidates, saying PDP is not only a symbol of hope but of concerted efforts of patriots to rescue the state and nation from APC government.

Speaking, Sen. Yakubu Lado called on the people of Musawa to continue to demonstrate unity of purpose and vowed to restore the lost glory of the state in agriculture, education and commerce, if elected.

Lado specifically declared his intention to rehabilitate Musawa dam to boost irrigation apart from other projects and programmes to empower youths and women across the state.
