Katsina State Governor Mal Dikko Umar Radda has presented three million seven hundred thousand naira to players from the state’s U15 Youths Team for winning the recently completed Sarauniyar Bauchi U-15 Championship in Bauchi.
The state Commissioner of Sports and Youth Development, Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle, said this when receiving the state team’s trophy at his office.
The sports commissioner, Aliyu Lawal Zakari, praised the players, technical crew, and Vice President of the Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria North West, Alh Aminu Wali, for representing the state proudly.
Aliyu Lawal Zakari used the occasion to highlight some of the present administration’s achievements in the football sector, including the sponsorship of state football academy players in Qatar.
The sports commissioner further stated that six of the players were chosen for trials in Al’saliyya, as well as nine state indigen players who would fly to France following a scouting competition sponsored by Bondy Football Academy in Katsina.
Shortly after giving the trophy, YSFON North West Vice President Alh Aminu Wali stated that they are at the ministry to offer the trophy to the commissioner and express their gratitude to the state government for its support and collaboration.
Aminu Wali, while presenting the trophy, also highlighted some of the state Youths Team’s accomplishments, like winning the President Tinubu Cup, finishing second in the following edition, and winning this year’s Sarauniyar Bauchi Championship.
