The Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development has begun the enrollment of it’s first batch of Adolescent Girls into the Skills acquisition centers in the State.
The Permanent Secretary of the Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development, Alh Aminu Badru disclosed this while monitoring the conduct of screening exercise of the enrollment at Katsina skills acquisition center.
Alh Aminu Badru said that the present Administration under Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda had shown great concern on the increasing number of out of school children and the need to improve the economy of the State and help the citizens of the State to be self reliant by supporting these centers to provide acquisitional skill training and to empower the trainees after graduation.
The Permanent Secretary also emphasized that during the recent graduation of 500 hundred trainees in December last year, the governor had directed the Department to increase the number of enrollment to 1000 due to its significance.
Alh Aminu Badru further maintained that before enrollment certain criteria has to be met which amongst others, a girl has to be within the ages of 14–18 years.
He then called on the applicants to give their maximum support and cooperation to the officials handling the screening exercise for a successful enrollment.
The screening exercise is to hold at the four designated existing centers in Katsina, Baure, Kaita and Funtua.
