Unilorin Inaugurates Advancement Board To Drive Sustainable Growth

The Vice chancellor University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole SAN, says the management is committed to fostering innovation, building lasting partnership and driving sustainable growth for the future of the university.

Professor Egbewole SAN, stated this while speaking at the inauguration of University Advancement Board, held at the University main auditorium in Ilorin the Kwara state capital.

He said the vision of the university is to strive for excellence and be a global leader in education, research and community engagement.

The vice chancellor explained that the institution aspire to produce graduates who are equipped to make meaningful impact in their respective field.

He said the membership of the university advancement board was carefully chosen by putting into consideration the value of integrity, excellence, courage and commitment of the appointees.

Professor Egbewole noted that the external members were chosen from the body of the alumni to demonstrate their capacity to deliver.

He said the advancement board would serve as a bridge between the university and the broader society the institution is committed to serving.

The vice chancellor hinted that the role of the board is to provide strategic guidance, innovative ideas,and invaluable network that would propel the institution to a new height of excellence.

He said the university advancement board would be instrumental in helping the institution to strengthen it’s resource based, identify opportunities for resource mobilization, partnership and endowment among others.

Professor Egbewole appealed to the board members to work towards repositioning the university and ensure it’s systems and processes are improved upon.

He urged the alumni association to key into the idea inorder to give back to the university that produce them, adding that they should shun all acts that are capable of painting the university in bad light.

In his remarks the Chairman University of Ilorin Advancement Board, Dr.Abdulwahab Ibrahim said a strategy would be developed to ensure the actualisation of their mandate.

He thanked the managements of the university for giving them the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the institution.

For his part the Registrar University of Ilorin, Mansur Alfanla commended the board members for their commitment to the service of their Alma mater.

He expressed optimism that the university would start ripping the benefit of setting up the board.
