17 Brigade Commander Extols Journalists’ Contributions to Combating Crime in Katsina

The Nigerian Army has acknowledged the role being played by Journalists towards the success of the ongoing fight against armed banditry and other security challenges in Katsina State.

The Brigade Commander of the 17 brigade Katsina, Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola stated this during a lunch organized for the Officials of Nigeria Union of Journalists and Working Journalists in the state.

The Lunch which is the first of it’s kind organized by the 17 brigade of the Nigerian Army under the current Brigade Commander Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola.

Addressing the journalists shortly after the lunch Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola said the lunch was organized to interact with the journalists in order to find out challenges faced by pen professionals in discharge of their duties of reporting security issues in Katsina State.

Responding, the Katsina State Chairman of the Nigerian Union Of Journalists, Comrade Tukur Hassan Dan-Ali appreciated the lunch for journalists in the state which he described as the first of it’s kind.

Comrade Tukur Dan-Ali assured the support of the working journalists to the Nigerian Army in it’s efforts to addressing security challenges facing some parts of the state.
