Kwara state government says it has put in place measures to make education accessible, relevant and impactful to the people of the state.
The state governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazq stated this while delivering his address at the 12th convocation ceremony of Kwara state University, in Malete, Moro local government area of the state.
Represented by the commissioner for tertiary education, Dr Mary Arinde, the governor said his administration would continue to invest in education to enhance socio-economic development.
He commended the management of the university for maintaining a smooth academic calendar and ensuring peace in their community.
AbdulRazq urged the graduands to leverage on the skills they acquired to make meaningful contribution to the society.
In his convocation address the Vice Chancellor, Kwara state University of Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, said a total of 6,891 degrees are to be awarded in the 2023/2024 academic session.
The vice Chancellor advised the graduands to use the knowledge acquired to develop themselves and the society at large.
In his address the Chancellor Kwara state University, Malete, Dr Johnson Akinwumi said the institution has remained steadfast in paying special attention to infrastructures and academic development.
He commended the effort of the state government for ensuring the timely take off of the other two campuses of the university in Osi and Ilesha Baruba.
Dr Akinwumi also thanked Tetfund for Supporting the university infrastructural development.
In his remarks, the Pro-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali said a lot of effort has been put in place to ensure the development of the university.
He advised parents to remain in support of the graduands to enable them achieve their dream.
