FUDMA Holds three-day management and staff retreat in Dutse

“The aim of the retreat is for us to refresh our minds on our activities throughout the year, review successes and the challenges we faced and to plan for next year.

The Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi says the university management was ready to reposition the institution for academic excellence.

He stated this at a three-day retreat by members of management and staff of the university holding in Dutse, Jigawa State.

Professor Bichi while speaking at the sidelines of the retreat explained that the occasion has provided them an opportunity to review the activities of the university in the outgoing year.

“We came to Dutse to have a retreat, and after the retreat we will have a council meeting.

“The aim of the retreat is for us to refresh our minds on our activities throughout the year, review successes and the challenges we faced and to plan for next year.

He further explained that, they will brainstorm and design a program of action on how best to make the institution more developed both in the area of infrastructure and academics.

“We invited six different experts to deliver papers on key areas that will translate to development for the university.

“Some of the papers presented were on the equality of education and the challenges faced by university education and we have assimilated them very well.

“Tomorrow, another set of papers will be presented on education policy and we will see how we will adapt these research, to translate into improved quality of education for our students”, Professor Bichi said.

Papers presented at the retreat include ‘Path to impactful University Leadership’ by Prof. Nasir Tukur and another paper titled ‘Symbiotic Relationship Between the Council, other Organs and Management in Achieving University Vision and Mission’ among others.
