The Kebbi State Government, has Commenced the payment of compensation to persons whose farmlands were affected for the construction of the Tsamiya Inland Dry Port in Shauna in Bagudo Local Government Area and those whose structures would be removed for the dualization of the Argungu Old Bye-Pass Road in Argungu local government area of the state.
Speaking to journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Housing, Town Planner, Abubakar Ahmed, said the state government disbursed 289.542 million naira for over 200 hectares of land and economic trees for the Tsamiya Inland Dry Port project in Shaguna, a border town between Nigeria and Benin Republic.
The Permanent Secretary, stated that the state government had also paid 339.913 million naira for the compensation of structures affected by the 6.5 kilometres dualization of the Argungu Old Bye-Pass Road.
TPL Ahmed who expressed satisfaction with the smooth implementation of the exercise, attributed its success to the full cooperation of the community and under the watch of the State Commissioner for Land and Housing, Gwandu Emirate, Ministry of Justice, Security Agencies, Ministry of Finance as well as community leaders.
