Radda tours Primary Healthcare Centres, promises permanent positions for Casual Staff

Katsina  state Governor, Dikko  Radda has conducted a comprehensive tour of primary healthcare centres across the state. 

He stated that the tour would aid in the development of more functional healthcare facilities and strengthen the expertise of its workforce.

While inspecting health facilities in Matazu and Kankia local government areas, Governor Radda announced the state government’s intention to convert casual staff at health institutions to permanent and pensionable positions.

He expressed the  hope that the measure would enhance motivation, commitment, and service delivery within the state’s healthcare sector.

Governor Radda also disclosed ongoing efforts to recruit medical professionals. 

While expressing his administration’s commitment to expanding the state’s medical workforce, he revealed that only eleven out of forty targeted doctors responded to the state’s employment offers.

The Katsina Governor commended the staff at Matazu Comprehensive Health Centre for maintaining a clean environment. 

At Rimaye town in Kankia LGA, Governor Radda pledged to release funds for the completion of the abandoned police station and directed the council chairman to submit an official request for the renovation to commence. 

During the tour, Governor Radda also paid visits to primary healthcare centres in Abukur, Lambar Rimi Charanchi, Koda, Kafinsoli, Gyaza, Karaduwa, and Jikamshi. He reiterated his commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and quality across the state.

In Koda, Governor Radda announced the approval of the upgrade of Koda Primary Health Centre to a Comprehensive Health Centre.

 He added that efforts were underway to upgrade Kafinsoli Primary Health Centre, including the construction of a perimeter wall and the provision of additional medical facilities.

Governor Radda further informed residents of Kafinsoli that the replacement of their transformer had been authorised to improve power supply and meet critical needs of their community. 

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed  said in a statement that the comprehensive tour of various health centres in the state, reaffirms the Radda administration’s dedication to understanding and addressing the specific needs of each community.
