The Katsina state office of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has launched a sensitisation campaign on the National Anthem and National Values Charter to Reaffirm our National Pride and Unity through the preservation of Nigeria National Identity.

The National Orientation Agency NOA Director Katsina State Alhaji Muntari Lawal Tsagem during a press conference harped on the importance of new National Anthem, value orientation and attitudinal change among Nigerians.

The statement reads, “I am delighted to welcome you to this important press conference organized by the National Orientation Agency (NOA). Today, we gather to discuss two pivotal elements that are at the heart of our national identity: the National Anthem and the National Values Charter.

“Firstly, let us address the National Anthem. Recently, we have re-adopted the anthem “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” a significant step in reaffirming our national pride and unity. The anthem is more than just a song; it is a symbol of our collective aspirations and the values we hold dear. It is imperative that we preserve the integrity of this national symbol. Therefore, we have standardized the lyrics to ensure consistency and accuracy across all platforms. I urge all Nigerians to embrace this version, as it reflects the true spirit of our nation.

“The National Anthem is a reminder of our shared history and the journey we have embarked upon as a united people. It calls on us to rise above our differences and work together towards a common goal: the progress and prosperity of Nigeria.

“Now, turning to the National Values Charter, this initiative is a cornerstone of our efforts to instill a sense of patriotism and civic responsibility among Nigerians. Over the years, we have witnessed a decline in the adherence to our national values, leading to a disconnect and disunity among our citizens. The National Values Charter seeks to address this by establishing a framework for value orientation and character molding.

“Our commitment to the National Identity Project is unwavering. In the coming weeks, NOA will launch a nationwide campaign to promote the National Values Charter. This will involve advocacy visits, town hall meetings, and engagement with stakeholders across the country. Our goal is to create a society where values such as discipline, integrity, dignity of labor, social justice, religious tolerance, and patriotism are not just ideals, but lived realities.

“We recognize that the success of these initiatives requires the active participation of both the government and the citizens. It is a shared responsibility, and we must all play our part in building a nation that reflects the values we cherish.

“In conclusion, let us embrace the National Anthem and the National Values Charter as instruments of unity and progress. Together, we can build a Nigeria that is not only proud of its heritage but also committed to a future of peace, prosperity, and shared values.

“Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your continued support as we embark on this journey of national renewal”.

The launch is to mark the beginning of a nationwide campaign to promote the National Values Charter, preserve the National Identity in all the local government areas of the state which is to be accomplished in weeks from the day of the launch.

The sensitization will help people in the rural areas and every other communities in the state and Nigeria at large to embrace the newly adopted national anthem, develop attitudinal change that will foster unity and progress in our contemporary society.
