Katsina police command debunks bandits’ attack report, says it is false, misleading

The Katsina State Police Command has debunked media report of bandits’ attack in Dan Ali, Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s spokesman, ASP Abubakar Aliyu said in statement on Saturday that the report was false, misleading and aimed at instilling fears on residents of the state.

The statement read “The Katsina State Police Command is aware of a misinformation making the rounds in some sections of the media that bandits attack disrupt juma’at prayer in Dan Ali village of Danmusa LGA, Katsina State.

“This information is entirely false and misleading.

“Contrary to the reports, the fact is that on October 4th, 2024, at about 1400hrs (2pm), some suspected armed bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK 47 rifles, shooting sporadically attempted to attack farmers working on their farms but were swiftly repelled by a combined team of police operatives, the military, and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) ensuring the safety of the farmers and preventing any harm.

“We urge the public to disregard the fabricated report, as it is aimed at spreading panic and misinformation.

“The Katsina State Police Command, under the able leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, remains committed toward safeguarding the lives and properties of the good people of the state.

“We equally appreciate the public’s cooperation and encourage continued support in the fight against all forms of crime and criminality in the state, especially kidnapping and banditry.”
