Radda visits Borno, donates ₦100 Million to flood victims

Katsina State Governor  Malam Dikko Radda, early Wednesday morning  paid a solidarity visit to Maiduguri,  Borno State capital  where he expressed condolences and support for victims of recent devastating floods.

During the visit, Governor Radda presented a cheque of ₦100 million Naira to his Borno state counterpart, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, as a support from the people of Katsina to those affected by the floods.

Addressing Governor Zulum and other dignitaries present, Governor Radda said, “We are here to commiserate with you and the people of Borno State over the unfortunate  flood incidence which has severely impacted social and economic activities in the state.”

He further emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “This is one of the most serious disasters that has affected our country, and Borno in particular.

“We hope Almighty Allah will provide support, and we pray that we will not witness another such incident in any part of our country.”

Responding to the solidarity visit and generous donation, the Borno State Governor expressed profound gratitude to  Governor Radda, and the entire people of Katsina State for the kind donation.  

“This act of kindness in our time of need exemplifies the unity and brotherhood that exists among Nigerians. Your support will significantly aid our recovery efforts and bring relief to those affected by the floods,” Governor Zulum remarked.

Governor Radda was accompanied by a high-profile delegation including the Emir Of Daura His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri; among others.

Governor Radda’s Chief Press Secretary,  Ibrahim Mohammed, in a statement, said the visit marked the spirit of solidarity among Nigerian states in times of crisis and the commitment of the Katsina State Government to support fellow Nigerians in need.
