The Committee for the distribution of Rice palliatives allocated to Kastina State by the Federal Government held its first meeting at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of state at Government House Katsina.
Speaking, the Chairman of the Committee who is the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari stated that the term of Reference of the committee include to ascertain and confirm number of bags of rice received from the Federal Government as Palliatives to the state.
Barrister Abdullahi Garba, also said the committee is to come up with the procedure of sharing the rice across the thirty four Local Government areas of the State as well as set up sub-committee at local government level to distribute the rice.
The Chairman of the Committee further stated that to ensure proper dissemination of activities of the committee to the public , and after the assignment to submit report to the government within three weeks from the day the committee is inaugurated.
The Committee which was inaugurated on 2nd August this Year comprised Commissioners of Special Duties and his Counterpart of Information and Culture, Representative of State House of Assembly and Managing Director State Irrigation Authority.
Other Members of the Committee are Executive Chairman Zakkah and Water Board, Commander HISBA, ALGON Chairman and representatives of Security Personnel.
Other Members of the Committee includes representatives of Katsina and Daura Emirates, Izala and Darika Sects, Youth Council of Nigeria as well as Nigeria Youth Congress and representatives of Civil Society Organization while Governor’s Office to serve as Secretary of the committee.
