The Chairman, Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Waikanatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Katsina State, Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan has appealed to President Ahmed Tinubu to subsidise this Year’s Hajj fare.
He also called on wealthy individuals to assist intending pilgrims in completing their Hajj fares.
The Islamic leader made the appeal in katsina while speaking at Kofar kaura Juma’a Mosque (Kandahar) during this year’s annual Quranic event known as Ramadan Tafsir.
Sheikh Hassan said, his appeals became necessary in view of the recent increase in Hajj fares by the National Hajj Commission( NAHCON).
He said many intending pilgrims could not afford to pay for the Hajj exercise because of current economic situation in the country.
Sheikh Hassan also urged elected politicians to assist intending pilgrims to complete their Hajj fares.
It would be recalled that the NAHCON recently reviewed the Hajj fares upward, citing current rate of the Naira and other circumstances.
