. . .Expects interim report in 4 weeks
The committee to verify all liabilities inherited by the administration of Katsina State Governor, Mal. Dikko Radda, has one month to submit its interim report, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has disclosed.
Speaking at the inauguration of the committee in Katsina, Arc. Dangiwa tasked the committee to identify all liabilities of the state government, the budgetary provisions made for such liabilities, amount paid so far and the balance, while indicating where applicable if such liabilities falls under joint funding or are under counterpart funding basis.
Others terms of reference of the panel, according to him, included a review of budgetary provisions of such liabilities and advice to the government, where appropriate, on alternative ways to source fund to settle the verified liabilities.
Inaugurating the committee which has Arch. Almajir Salihu as chairman, with Engr. Sani Magaji, Shamsuddeen Sanusi Ahmad, Suleiman Musawa, Engr. Babangida Yahaya Abubakar and Arch. Bashir Muhammad Idris, among others, as members, the State Deputy Governor, Mallam Faruk Lawal Jobe, said the committee is based on the government’s commitment to justice and fair hearing for all contractors with outstanding liabilities.
He expressed the confidence that members of the committee would be equal to the task in view of the calibre and expertise of the professionals and technocrats.
The Deputy Governor urged them to be dedicated to their assignment and summit their report within the stipulated time.
