Players from Katsina Football Academy have departed Katsina to participate in a football scouting tournament in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
On behalf of the state sports commissioner, Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle, Audu Bello, the director of the Katsina Sports Council, bid farewell to the players.
On Friday, February 21st, 2025, the Academy players will leave Kano on a one-week football trip to Doha.
The Academy Players will battle against various Qatari teams while they are in the country, including Al’rayyan, Al’Dohen, and Al’sahel, respectively.
The state’s homegrown football players will have a chance to show off their skills and pursue a future outside of Nigeria by taking part in the scouting event.
While bidding the players farewell, the sports commissioner urged them to maintain discipline, honesty, and sportsmanship throughout the event.
Shamsuddeen Ibrahim, the Academy’s director of football, assured readiness to guide the players to accomplish what was necessary to attain the goals set.
The players will be accompanied by Academy Chairman Ahmed Muhammad, State Sports Commissioner Aliyu Lawal Zakari, and Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Mustapha Sani Bello.
