The Katsina State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved bulk purchase of electric/solar power vehicles and tricycles under public transportation program and the construction of a 20-story building in Lagos.
Addressing newsmen after the regular State Executive Council meeting held on wednesday, Director General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), Hajiya Aisha Aminu Malumfashi, announced the approval for bulk procurement of electric and solar-powered vehicles and tricycles.
Hajia Aisha explained that the innovative transportation program aims to provide subsidized transport fares to residents amid rising petroleum costs while creating employment opportunities for the state’s youth population.
“We have identified IRS, a renowned Kano-based company, and another supplier as the approved vendors for this transformative initiative,” Malumfashi stated
Briefing on another development, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Intergovernmental, Development Partners and Liaison Services, Hajia Hadiza Maikudi, revealed the council’s approval for constructing a 20-story residential building on the state government’s property in Victoria Island, Lagos.
“This landmark project, scheduled for completion within 24 months, represents a strategic investment to enhance the state’s revenue base,” Maikudi explained
The approvals granted by Governor Radda are poised to enhance public transportation and boost state revenue generation.
