The Katsina State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has urged the State Football Association (F.A) to reconsider Gawo Professionals Team’s three-year ban along with around 700,000 naira fine.
Nasir Gide, the association’s Chairman, made the appeal following the measures taken in response to the rowdy behavior by some Gawo Professional Team’s supporters at the state super league final.
Nasir Gide, who commended the state Football Association’s efforts at ensuring peaceful coexistence among football clubs, referees, and spectators, calls on the football organization to reconsider its decision.
The SWAN Chairman, who does not condone any wrongdoing by local football teams, urges the state F.A to avoid making this harsh decision because it will not help the development of football at the grassroots.
He however, urge the football association (F.A.) to always act in accordance with the rules of the game, as well as local football teams.
