Health remains the critical sector of Governor Malam Dikko Radda Led Administration.
The deputy governor of Katsina state government Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe stated this during second monthly press briefing held at Old Government House Katsina.
According to the Deputy Governor, the administration has recruited 254 personnel in secondary health facilities comprising doctors, pharmacists, nurses, among others to enhance health service delivery in the sector.
Malam Farouq Jobe furthermore said, the state government has provided scholarship to 41 indigenes of the state to study MBBS in Egypt and a sum of more than 2bn has been expanded.
In the same vein, he noted that, the salary of medical doctors has been reviewed and enhanced to achieve greater service productivity in the health sector.
Also, according to him, the state government has sponsored resident doctors for residency training within the country.
In addition, the Deputy Governor said a sum of over 13 billion has been expended for the rehabilitation and upgrade of about 146 health facilities across the state.
Also he stated that to this end, Kafur and Kankia General Hospitals have been renovated and equipped with state of the art facilities at the sum of over 700 million.
A dialysis centre, the best of its kind in the country, has been completed at Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital at the sum of over 680 million naira.
