Kwara State University Malete is to graduate seventy one (71) first class degrees undergraduates for year 2023/2024 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Shaykh Lukqman Jimoh stated this while speaking with Newsmen on the 12th Convocation Ceremony of the Institution at Malete in Moro local government area of the state.
He said during the graduation a total of 1,828 undergraduates would bagged second class upper division,3,501 second class lower division while 974 would graduate with third class.
Professor Jimoh said the University would graduate a total of 6,374 first degree while 517 post graduate degrees would also be awarded.
He explained that institution has now grown from nine to eleven faculty, adding that about ten departments have also been created.
The Vice Chancellor noted that the introduction of new faculties has increase the intake of the undergraduates to eighty capacity.
He said the University is producing professionals who are equiped to add value to human capital development.
Professor Jimoh said the Institution would continue to prioritize the welfare of staff to sustain the achievements recorded.
He said the University has also granted 121 biological children of 102 staff of the Institution as well as persons with disability school fees reduction to ease their studies.
The Vice Chancellor maintained that some staff of the Institution have also been supported to further their studies.
He express concern over encroachment of the University land by the neighbouring communities.
Professor Jimoh appealed to the state government to urgently intervene and put an end to the anomaly.
