Police boost operational capabilities as command trains patrol, guard officers

As part of efforts to enhance operational capabilities and improve public safety and security, the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Police Command, CP Aliyu Musa has commenced a comprehensive training program for patrol and guard officers throughout the command.

The training, which aims to equip officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively discharge their duties, covers a range of topics including:

  • Core police duties and responsibilities
  • Advanced weapon handling and tactics
  • Defensive driving and vehicle management
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Crisis management and conflict resolution.

The CP emphasized the importance of training and retraining of personnel, stating that officers must be equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to effectively respond to emerging security challenges and ensure protection of lives and properties of the citizens of Katsina State.

According to a statement by the command’s spokesman, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the training programme is in line with the vision and mission of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to ensure a professionally competent and service-driven police force that can respond to the changing dynamics of security situation in the country.

The statement added that Katsina State Police Command remains committed to providing top-notch training to its personnel and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
