Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda has joined the global voices in the campaign against gender based violence.
The campaign aligns with the United Nations General Assembly’s international call to eliminate violence against women.
Governor Radda emphasized that the state government’s policy framework is comprehensively designed to create a protective environment ensuring women’s safety, dignity, and fundamental human rights.
“Every woman in Katsina State deserves protection, respect, and the opportunity to live free from violence,” the Governor stated.
Leading the 16-day intensive awareness campaign, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajia Hadiza Yar’adua explained that the campaign will employ a multifaceted approach that encompasses robust advocacy, survivor-centered support programmes, and proactive policy implementation aimed at addressing systemic violence against women.
Governor Radda’s administration has positioned gender protection as a critical priority.
The Governor recognizes that eliminating violence against women requires holistic, systematic approaches involving government, community leaders, educational institutions, and civil society.
The 16-day campaign represents a pivotal moment in the state’s commitment to women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment.
