NAPTIP rescues sixteen Katsina under age victims of child labour

Katsina State Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in persons (NAPTIP) has rescued sixteen under age victims of child labour.

The state commander of the Agency Musa Aliyu Hadeja handed over the victims to the special adviser to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Drugs Narcotics and Human Trafficking, Alhaji Shehu Abdu Daura.

According to the Katsina State Commander of NAPTIP Musa Aliyu Hadeja, the victims were rescued by Maiduguri Zonal Command and later handed them over to Katsina state Command.

Commander Musa Aliyu added that 12 among the victims were rescued in Borno state while the remaining 4 were brought from Kano state, all are natives of Bakori local government area of Katsina State.

Commander Musa Aliyu appreciated the support being given to the agency by other relevant agencies and assured of more commitments in the discharge of the agencies constitutional mandate.

Receiving the Victims, the special Adviser to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Drugs Narcotics and Human Trafficing Alhaji Shehu Abdu Daura acknowledged the efforts being made by NAPTIP towards addressing human trafficking and Child Labour in the state.

Alhaji Shehu Abdu Daura emphasized the need for parents to ensure proper upbringing of their children as ordained by the religion of Islam for their better future.

The special Adviser assured of government continue support for such victims to feel a sense of belonging.
