Security operatives have successfully rescued three women and three children who were abducted by bandits on September 26, 2024, in Jibia Local Government Area, Katsina State.
The state Commissioner for Internal security and home affairs, Dr Nasir Muazu disclosed that the victims were taken captive while harvesting maize at a farm near Gurbi Magariya village.
According to him, local vigilantes, working in conjunction with the Community Watch Corps, Military, Police, Civil Defence, and the Department of State Services (DSS), in a swift response, pursued the bandits and rescued the hostages.
He said the State Government commended the efforts of the security agencies and vigilantes in ensuring the safe return of the abducted individuals.
