Kanwa United Football Club of Ketare, Kankara Local Government Area, has emerged as the champions of the inaugural Sarkin Fulanin Joben Katsina, Deputy Governor Faruq Lawal Trophy in Kankara.
Kanwa United’s journey to victory began with a hard-fought 1-0 win over AC Milan Kankara in the first round, followed by another 1-0 triumph against FC London Kankara, securing their place in the final.
In the decisive match, Kanwa United defeated Kankara Pillars by a single goal to claim the coveted trophy.
The trophy was donated by the deputy governor of katsina state Malam Faruq Lawal Jobe an indigene of Kankara Local Government to be competed among football clubs in Kankara local government to enhance youth participation in sporting activities.
The Deputy Governor, Malam Faruq Lawal, was represented at the event by APC Chieftain, Alhaji Kasimu Dan Tsoho, who presented the trophy to the victorious Kanwa United FC of Ketare.
In his congratulatory message, the Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara mni, who is the proprietor of the club praised his team for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to maintain their winning momentum.
He also commended the team’s coach, Hassan Isa Ketare, for his dedication in guiding the team to success and urged him to continue his efforts to ensure future victories.
Kanwa United Football Club was established by the Kanwan Katsina, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara mni to engage the youth of Ketare District in sporting activities, helping to promote physical fitness and discourage social vices among the community’s young people.
