2,000 Entrepreneurs Trained in Business Management: Gov Radda Commends KASEDA-UNDP Initiative

The  Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko  Radda has lauded the joint efforts of the Katsina State Enterprises Development Agency (KASEDA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in organizing a comprehensive Business and Financial Management training workshop for 2,000 women and youth entrepreneurs across the state.

The training program, a part of UNDP’s North-West Prevention Facility Programme, took place in Katsina, Dutsinma, and Funtua, targeting participants from eight frontline Local Government Areas (LGAs) facing security challenges.

Speaking on the initiative, Governor Radda stated, “This program aligns with our administration’s commitment to fostering economic resilience and empowering our youth and women, particularly in areas affected by security challenges. By equipping our entrepreneurs with vital business management skills, we are laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth in Katsina State.”

Dr. Sadiq Iro Matazu, the Operation Manager of the program, outlined the extensive support structure, which includes:

– Grants of ₦100,000 for 400 Nano businesses

– ₦300,000 for 300 Micro businesses

– Revolving funds of ₦600,000 for 200 small businesses

– Revolving funds of ₦1,000,000 for 100 Medium enterprises

“This initiative specifically targets women, youth, and People Living with Disabilities in Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, Dandume, and Sabuwa LGAs,” Matazu explained. 

Governor Radda emphasized, “This targeted approach ensures that our most vulnerable communities receive the support they need. By focusing on these frontline LGAs, we are not just fostering entrepreneurship, but also contributing to peace and stability in our state.”

The Governor, however, reasserted the administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for such initiatives to thrive, stating, “We will continue to partner with international organizations like UNDP to bring more opportunities to our people. This program is just the beginning of our efforts to transform Katsina into a hub of entrepreneurial excellence.”

Governor Radda’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed issued a statement on the event.
