Maiduguri flood: Radda sympathizes with Borno Governor, residents

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the government and people of Borno State as well as his Borno state counterpart, Umara Zulum over devastating floods that have submerged homes and caused significant property damage in Maiduguri.

In a statement made public on Wednesday, Governor Radda said, “Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in Maiduguri who have been affected by this natural disaster. The loss of homes and property is a profound tragedy that touches us all as Nigerians.”

Radda emphasized the need for national unity in times of crisis, stating, “In moments like these, we are reminded that the challenges faced by one state are challenges faced by us all. Katsina sympathizes with the people of Maiduguri during this difficult time.”

He added “I extend my personal condolences to His Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, whose leadership has been instrumental in guiding Borno through numerous challenges. Your resilience in the face of adversity continues to inspire us all.”

The Katsina State Governor also called for increased national attention to climate change and its impacts on vulnerable communities.

“This flood is a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive climate adaptation strategies across our nation. We must work together at all levels of government to better protect our citizens from these increasingly frequent environmental disasters,” he asserted.

Governor Radda urged all Nigerians to keep the people of Borno in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging time”, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.
