Former President Yar’adua’s late mother’s death: Vice President Shettima, Radda, other dignitaries attend funeral

The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda  has received top dignitaries in Nigeria  including the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima and the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass, to attend the funeral prayers of the late mother of the former President Umar Musa Yar’adua, Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’adua who passed on Monday night. 

Governor Radda led dignitaries and Muslim sympathizers for the funeral prayers held at the Katsina Township Stadium presided by the Chief Imam of GRA Jumaat Mosque, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi Yammawa. 

The Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima  who commiserated with the Government and people of Katsina State over the death of Hajiya Dada Yar’adua, described the deceased as a mother for all. “May Almighty Allah grant her Al-Janna Firdaous  and grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss,” Sen. Kashim prayed. 

Other dignitaries in attendance include, Katsina State Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe; Emir of Katsina, HRH Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman; former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi; former Senate President Ahmad Lawan, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. 

Governor Dikko’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed  in a statement on Tuesday evening,  added that business Mogul, Dahiru Mangal; Senator Abdul Ningi and Adams Marina Waziri were also among the dignitaries present to offer condolences to the bereaved family.

The late Hajiya Dada Yar’adua who died at the age of 102 was survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
