Undergraduate student of Geography and Regional Planning, Ahmad Muhammad Kabir of the Federal University Dutsinma, FUDMA, in Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, has freely admitted to giving weapons and vital logistical assistance to infamous terrorist organizations active in the area as reported by some online media.

He was apprehended on Saturday at a Dutsinma township vehicle park in Katsina State, Kabir told detectives he had brought the ammonitions from Nasarawa State, where it had been deceitfully hidden within bags of guinea corn to avoid detection.

In his confession, he said “Two weeks back, a friend I got to know at school, Manir Musa, called to inform me to expect a call from someone and that it would fetch me money, to which I obliged.

“I later got the stranger’s call and was asked to proceed to Nasarawa State to bring in ammunition at a price.

“I took off to Nasarawa State as planned, to Lafiya, the state capital to be precise where a man asked me to meet him on the outskirts of the city. He handed me a sack containing guinea corn with ammunition concealed in it.

“Immediately I collected the consignment, I headed for Abuja where I boarded a Dutsinma-bound commercial vehicle.”

“When I arrived from Nasarawa, I called to inform them I had arrived with the bag. So he asked for my location and I told him. He sent someone with a motorcycle to come pick it up.”

On whether he had personally met with bandits before, he replied, “No, we only communicate on the phone”.

Born in Kaduna but relocated to the Igabi Local Government Area’s Hayin Danmani in Dutsinma to attend the Federal University Dutsinma and seek a Western education.

He admitted to being a major logistical supporter of terrorist groups in a videotaped interview and also named Manir Musa, a fellow student, as a co-conspirator in his illegal gun distribution scheme.
