Katsina police foil bandits’ attack, rescue 1

Operatives of Katsina police command early Thursday morning foiled bandits’ attack at Faru village, Jibia Local Government Area of the state. 

The Operatives rescued a kidnapped victim in the process.

The incident occurred at 1.15 a.m.

The Command Spokesman, ASP Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development. 

He said “In a sustained onslaught against acts of kidnapping and banditry in the state, the command, under the able leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Katsina Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa,  has succeeded in foiling a bandit attack on Faru village, Jibia LGA, Katsina state.

“Today ( Thursday) 29th August, 2024, at about 1.15 a.m, a distress call was received at the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters on a bandits attack on Faru village, Jibia LGA, kidnapping one (1) person.

“Instantaneously, the DPO Jibia mobilized a joint team of operatives in collaboration with members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), members of the Vigilante, and responded to the scene.

“The team valorously engaged the assailants in a gun duel, successfully rescued the kidnapped victim unhurt, and foiled the attack as the assailants fled the scene with various degrees of bullet injuries.

“Efforts are being intensified with a view to arresting the fleeing suspects.

“The CP, while commending the uncommon act of professionalism and bravery displayed by the operatives, charges officers to sustain the ongoing onslaught against all forms of crime and criminality in the state, especially kidnapping and banditry, for a better secured Katsina State.”
