Alhaji Sanusi Ango Gyaza, an aide to the Katsina State Governor, in Gyaza, in the Kankia Local Government Area (LGA) was attacked by gunmen suspected to be bandits.
His wife was also reportedly killed during the raid while another was abducted.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Friday night when the gunmen attacked Gyaza at his residence in the Gyaza community of Kankia Local Government Area of the state.
Gyaza was the former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) for Kankia LGA.
Already, the Nigeria Police Force, through its Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Sadiq, has confirmed the incidence to some reporters in a telephone conversation on Sunday that it was aware of the incident.
