The Federal University Dutsin-ma in Katsina State has presented over ten awards of excellent to *Mama A’isha Ibrahim Yusuf Bichi* for her outstanding contribution to nation building.
The awards presented at a special event organized solely in her honour, emanated from various departments and units of the academic institution.
Prominent among the awards was the *Jakadiyar Kasar Hausa* presented to her by the Centre For Gender Studies of the University in recognition of the role being played by the awardee in empowering women in all ramifications.
Presenting the awards at the Professor Lawal Abdu Saulawa Audititorium, Federal University Dustin-ma, Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi described *Mama Aisha Yusuf Bichi* as an icon of development whose impactful intervention is unquantifiable.
He said after careful assessment the awards recipient has been found to have influenced the employment of over five thousand people and constructed several schools, mosques and other facilities in addition to provision of many humanitarian services across the country.
Professor Armay’au Bichi who noted that the University is proud of the awardee’s achievements, called on the Federal Government to consider giving her national honour while also recommending her for honorary doctorate degrees by Universities considering her untiring contributions to human and national development.
The awardee has also remain supportive of her childhood friends and others within her community and beyond.
*Mama Aisha Bichi* who was visibly overwhelmed by the numerous awards, said she feels highly honored and humbled by the recognition.
She promised not to relent in positively touching the lives of particularly children, women and other vulnerable in the society to the best of her ability.
*Mama Aisha Bichi* has earlier received various awards which she continues to cherish in life.
The ceremony which was well attended by personalities from all walks of life, witnessed a befitting reception in honour of the awardee.
