The Katsina State Committee on Food Nutrition in Collaboration with UNICEF have organized a one day coordinating meeting for second Quarter of this year.
During the meeting held in Katsina, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Shehu Maikano said the meeting was aimed to review progress made on planned activities, achievements, challenges and ways to tackle them.
The Permanent Secretary who was represented by the Secretary of the Committee, Alhaji Abdulrahman Jibril explained that the meeting is to strengthen state coordination of nutrition programme and various partners support.
Alhaji Abdulrahman Jibril added that government made provision for the procurement of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food RUTF this year and other Nutrition Commodities.
During the Meeting the Nutrition Officer UNICEF Kano Field Office, Abigail Nyam, and the Deputy Country Director Nutrition International, Babajige Adebisi, spoke in details on the ways MDAs are supporting nutrition in the state.
The Meeting Comprised representatives of MDAs, Tertiary Institution, NGOs, Religious Leaders and Media among others that contributed in the promotion of nutrition in the state.
