Katsina security team  kills one bandit, recover AK 47

Katsina state security team led by operatives of the state police command early Tuesday morning , (July 16, 2024), foiled a bandits’ attack on Gidan Dan Ali village, Ketare Ward, Kankara Local Government Area of the state killing one bandit, and recovering one (1) AK47 rifle in the process.

Sources revealed that on that day, information was received at the Kankara Divisional Police headquarters that  bandits, in their numbers, wielding dangerous weapons, attacked Gidan Dan Ali village.

It was further learnt that upon receipt of the report, the DPO Kankara Divisional Headquarters, CSP Iliyasu Ibrahim, mobilized a team of police operatives, members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), and Vigilante to the scene. 

The team reportedly tracked the assailants down to Bulunkuza village in Tudun Wada Ward, Kankara LGA, where they engaged them (the assailants) in a fierce gun duel, forcing the assailants to abandon their plan and flee the scene.

The command spokesman, ASP Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development. 

He explained that during the course of scanning the scene, a body of one (1) neutralized suspected bandit and one (1) Ak47 rifle were recovered.

According to him, “The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, while commending the exceptional display of gallantry and professionalism, urges members of the public to continue providing the command with timely information on suspected criminal activities for prompt and decisive action.”
