FUDMA Lecturer killed by Bandits, Abduct Family Members

The Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), has tragically lost his life when bandits attacked him in his residence.

Dr. Tiri Gyan David was attacked in the early hours of Tuesday at his residence in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina state.

According to an eyewitness, the attackers, armed with sophisticated weaponry, invaded the community around 1:30 am. They fired shots indiscriminately, terrifying residents. During the raid, the bandits also abducted two of Dr. David’s children.

Abubakar Sadiq, the spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, confirmed the attack, expressing that a comprehensive statement would be issued shortly.

Despite efforts by the state government and security agencies to restore peace, Dutsinma remains one of the 10 front-line local government areas frequently targeted by bandits in Katsina State.
