WINNER OF THE DAN’AREWA UNITY AND PROGRESSIVE SOCCER TOURNAMENT WILL BE AWARDED WITH ONE MILLION NAIRA IN CASH.

Alh Sani Abu Dauda Daura, the promoter of the second edition of the DAN’AREWA Unity and Progressive Football Cup tournament, has promised the winner of this year’s championship one million naira and a trophy.

Alh Sani Abu Maye revealed this during the tournament’s opening match, which was played between Junior Comassee and Dutsinma Pillars at Umar Faruq Township Stadium in Daura.

The competition organiser stated that the soccer event is held every year with the goal of encouraging young people to participate in sports rather than engage in drug usage.

According to the organizer, the competition comprises sixteen teams recruited from across the state, with eight advancing to the quarter finals.

Hundreds of spectators were at the stadium to cheer on their players for victory.

Junior Comassee defeated Dutsinma Pillars by four goals to two (4-2) in the first game, with Salihu Sani and Ibrahim Ahmed scoring braces for Junior Comassee and Sadauki scoring two goals for Dutsinma Pillars, respectively.

The winner will earn a trophy and one million naira, the runner-up will receive five hundred thousand naira, and the third place winner will receive three hundred thousand naira.
