No fewer than seven people have been confirmed killed by bandits in another attack on Mai -Dabino village, Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina state.
According to the police, the attack took place on Saturday night.
Investigation has however commenced with a view to arresting the culprits.
Residents revealed that the bandits arrived the village around 10 p.m on Saturday and operated for over three hours.
It was also disclosed that the bandits had earlier that night, barricaded Yantumaki/Danmusa road before heading to Maidabino.
The residents who spoke under anonymity, added that the bandits also abducted unspecified number of victims who were mostly women and children.
The bandits also reportedly burnt down several houses, shops and vehicles belonging to the residents.
The Spokesman for the state police command ASP Abubakar Sadiq confirmed the incident on Sunday.
He said “Yesterday, June 22, 2024, at about 10 p.m, armed bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically attacked Maidabino village, Danmusa LGA, where they shot and killed about seven (7) persons.
“Investigation is currently ongoing, as further developments will be communicated in due course”.
