The Katsina State Government intends to build a new stadium in the Danja local government area of the state to promote sports from the grassroots.

Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle, the State Sports Commissioner, made the announcement during the ceremonial handing over of the land granted by the Danja local government.

The Commissioner appreciated the local government chairman’s forethought in providing a section of the land for the construction of the area’s sporting facilities.

Aliyu Lawal Shargalle reaffirms the State government’s commitment to constructing a suitable facility that will host athletics and other sporting events for the general development of youths in the area.

He charged the sports enthusiasts in the area to reciprocate the gesture through the use of the provided sporting arena.

Similarly, Katsina State Sports Commissioner, Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle, has banned all farming activities on the grounds of Isma’ila Isah Funtua Stadium.

During the familiarization visit of the Funtua and Malumfashi zonal sports councils, Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle issued the directives.

The Commissioner noted that the order is being issued to halt all activities and allow the swarming youths in the zone unfettered access to the facilities.

Shargalle stated that the current administration is determined to complete the stadium’s upgrade for the benefit of all sporting activities.

While in Malumfashi and Bakori the Commissioner toured various portions of the Abubakar Labo Controller and Bakori Township Stadiums to assess the facility’s condition and determine how best to rehabilitate them.

He confirmed that the pavilion in the stadium would be rebuilt in the proper location, and that the fence wall would be repaired as needed.
