Twenty seven (27) people were killed in a fresh attacks on several communities in the Dutsinma and Safana local government areas of Katsina State, The Nigeria Police Force confirmed. The terrorists launched attacks on the communities on Tuesday while another set of gunmen invaded Dogon Ruwa, Yar Kuka, Rimi, Lezumawa and other villages on Thursday.
The attacks forced residents to flee and seek refuge in Dutsinma town and Turare village. It was learnt that some of the deceased were residents of Tashar Kawai Mai Zurfi, Sabon Gari Unguwar Banza, Dogon Ruwa, Sanawar Kurecen Dutsi, Unguwar Bera, Kuricin Kulawa, Larabar Tashar Mangoro, Sabaru, Ashata, Unguwar Ido, Kanbiri, Kunamawar Mai Awaki and Kunamawar ‘Yargandu.
Twenty seven (27) deaths were confirmed from these attacks but no security personnel was among the deceased, the Nigeria Police Force confirmed.
Meanwhile, the police have deployed more officers to the affected communities to protect the people.
