The All Progressive Congress (APC) has emerged victorious across all Local Government Areas in Gombe State during the recently concluded Council elections.
The chairman of the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC), Malam Saidu Awak, announced the results in Gombe.
He revealed that out of the 19 registered political parties in the state, only five fielded candidates and participated in the elections.
According to Malam Saidu Awak, the elections were conducted peacefully, with the APC securing victory in all 11 LGAs as officially declared by the returning officers.
Furthermore, the APC claimed victory in all 114 councillorship seats, with the results already announced at the polling units due to the exclusive participation of APC candidates.
Among the winners are Mal Mohammed Adamu for Akko LG Chairman, Malam Ibrahim Salisu Balanga, Mrs. Egla Idris Billiri, Malam Adamu Waziri Dukku, Alhaji Shuaibu Adamu Funakaye, Mr Sani Haruna Gombe, Mr. Iliya Jatau Kaltungo, Malam Ahmed Wali Kwami, Mr. Babangida Adamu Nafada, Hajiya Fatima-Binta Bello Shongom, and Malam Abubakar Hassan Yamaltu/Deba.
Reacting to the development, Alhaji Mohammed Garba, the chairman of Accord Party Gombe, stated that their party contested the election to demonstrate its presence in Gombe and expressed acceptance of the election outcome, wishing the winners a successful tenure.
