Katsina police in joint operation with other security operatives in Sabuwa and Dandume Local Government Areas of the state have killed one bandit, arrested two and recovered some exhibits including two motorcycles.
News of the development were broken on Sunday by the spokesman of the Katsina police command, ASP Abubakar Aliyu.
According to him, operatives of the command along with the military, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), members of the vigilante and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) performed the feat .
He said “In a joint operation between the Katsina State Police Command, Military, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), members of the vigilante and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) across Dandume and Sabuwa Local Government Areas, succeeded in neutralising (1), arresting two (2) suspected bandits, and recovering two (2) bandits’ operational motorcycles at Madachi village, Sabuwa Local Government Area , Katsina State.
“On April 19th, 2024, at about 9.00 a.m, while on a coordinated intelligence-led operation, upon reaching Madachi village in Sabuwa LGA, the team of operatives came under heavy fire from some suspected armed bandits. Gallantly, the team returned fire, successfully repelled the attack, and arrested two (2) suspects.
“In the course of scanning the scene, the body of one (1) neutralised suspected bandit and two (2) operational motorcycles belonging to the bandits were recovered.”
The command spokesman added that the state police commissioner, Aliyu Musa lauded the security operatives for their level of gallantry and professionalism displayed during the operation.
Aliyu added that the Police Commissioner also reiterated the command’s commitment to the collaboration with sister security agencies as well as all relevant stakeholders to ensuring the protection of the lives and property of the good people of the state under his stewardship.
