KATSINA STATE COMMAND DIARY
DISINFORMATION: KATSINA POLICE COMMAND DEBUNKS RUMOURS OF FOOD TRUCK ATTACK AND LOOTING IN THE STATE
Katsina Police Command is aware of a video spreading across social media platforms concerning an alleged attack and looting of a food truck “allegedly” in Katsina State. We wish to categorically state that these rumours are entirely false and unsubstantiated.
After a thorough investigation into the matter, it has been concluded that no such incident took place within the state, as there is no evidence to suggest that a trailer loaded with foodstuffs was attacked or looted at any point in time by members of the public throughout the state, as captioned in these video.
Therefore, the command urges members of the public to refrain from spreading false information that can cause unnecessary panic and fear among citizens of the state and the country at large. The dissemination of such baseless rumours is not only mischievous but also detrimental to the peace and security of our society.
The CP therefore assures members of the general public of the Command’s commitment to upholding law and order and will not hesitate to take appropriate action against those who attempt to spread misinformation for malicious purposes.
He further encourages the general public to rely on official sources of information and refrain from sharing unverified news that can lead to unwarranted fear and anxiety among citizens.
