Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 14 in Katsina for the just concluded 2023 elections, Ahmed Abdurrahman, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two policemen attached to the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and his less fortunate nephew in a road crash.
Abdurrahman, who paid a condolence visit to Governor Aminu Bello Masari in his Masari country home on Saturday, noted that the accident was indeed an unfortunate incident and enjoined the governor and members of the bereaved families to take solace that the incident was an act of God.
He assured that the hearts of all members of the force were fully with the bereaved families in this time of grief, adding that the Almighty will comfort them and grant the deceased eternal rest.
Recall that the accident occurred when the governor’s convoy was on its trip to Masari town on Friday, March 17, ahead of Saturday’s elections.
Meanwhile, the AIG, who monitored the conduct of the elections in different constituencies, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the polls and the security arrangements for governorship election collation centre in Katsina.
