The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Katsina State yesterday endorsed the suspension of the state party secretary, Shitu S. Shitu, and the state party legal adviser, Nasir Umar Wagini, by their respective chairmen.
The suspension came barely three days after the ruling party was marginally defeated in last Saturday’s presidential election in the state by the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a press release signed by the state APC chairman, Sani Ali Ahmed, the party said its State Working Committee (SWC) reaffirmed the decisions of the party leaders at the grassroots pending the findings of an investigative committee set to investigate the matter.
This is sequel to the SWC’s meeting of the party held on Monday, February 27, 2023, on the issue of suspension letters served on Shitu and Wagini respectively.
“By the separate letters served to the two State Excos, they have been directed to handover all the properties of the party which are in their possession to their subordinates with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.
