Katsina State Police Command has trained no fewer than 620 of its personnel on election security management ahead of February and March general polls.
The spokesman of the command, Gambo Isah, who disclosed this yesterday after the 10 day training programme in katsina, said the exercise was organized for the constables that were newly posted to the command.
He said the training focused on crowd control, musketry, case file compilation, Electoral Act, Police Act and Regulations among others.
Isah, in a press release, noted that the senior officers with training background were selected to train the constables that passed out of police college recently.
He expressed the appreciation of the command’s Commissioner of Police, Shehu Umar Nadada, to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, for improving the manpower capacity of the police formation besides provision of other equipment and logistics to the command.
